The attached image is a Tool Palette in AutoCAD where the user can create custom icons to create for example a polyline with a particular layer.
I would like to see this in MicroStation, especially in ORD.
MicroStation should have a palette where the user can create new tabs in that palette and he can add new icons:
Each icon would be a particular key-in and an associated Element Template.
For example: "Place SmartLine" and Element Template= X.
Maybe you are asking yourself what happens it that Element Template is not already a local copy in the active DGN... well , in that case could show a message and do nothing.
Another example to create an "Alignment": key-in "Complex By element" and X Element Template.
In fact, we could add tabs in the Tool palette for each category: Alignments, Profiles, .....
Instead of activate a particular Element Template and then push a button in the ribbon, we could do this in just one step.
I think that we can add more that one key-in (separated by comma) in the key.in window but who use that? I have to remember a sequence of keyins to type...
Important: I don´t want to do this by programmation (MDL applications) just an easy way to custom a palette.
We have marked that one as already exists since there are ways for creating custom tools and customizing the ribbon
