While AutoCAD is very much focused on key-in commands, MicroStation has always worked on providing a constantly improving graphical user interface.

Despite the advantages of such a visual approach the Position Mapping was and is a very efficient way to select commands in MciroStation with just very few key-ins. It is still very popular for many users.

The disadvantage of the Position Mapping is the inablility to improve or customize the user interface. Any change can cause a mapping change and the user must relearn. The advantages of the new workflows of the ribbon cannot be leveraged.

As a user I'd like to use the Position Mapping with the standard key-ins regardless of the selected ribbon workflow and active ribbon tab.
