RE:EnhancementRequest 69097 (Created over 3 years ago)
Please see attached PDF for example of what we had in Microstation V8 2004.
We used to be able to tentative a point in one view (ex. View 1) and then move our cursor to another view (ex. View 5) and zoom in or out from that tentative location in the first view (tentative was always centered in the view). This worked great in busy models so you could find the same location in all of your open views. I did not have to click a view to activate it. I only had to move my cursor into another view and I could zoom into the same location thatI tentative picked in the first view. This worked great when using laser scan data and works great in any 3d model.
I have had an enhancement request on this for over 3 years and decided to add this topic to the Ideas area so that it can get more attention from users and hopefully Bentley.
Please vote this up!
Thank you.
Hello Curtis, thank you very much for the great idea. Today we use an active view concept which prevents us from implementing this idea. For the time being, we believe the risks and effort to change the technology outweigh the potential benefits. But we are happy to review it in the future.
More information on active views is available here: https://docs.bentley.com/LiveContent/web/MicroStation%20Help-v13/en/GUID-6549D9EF-702D-C783-D305-CF60B5DE7502.html.
