There are so many ideas “in the pipe”. Is it too prudent to ask if it would be possible to commit to the active user base and boost the processes? (I guess we are longanimous or rather too silently impatient)
That relates to the timeframe ideas are reviewed (several months now!?) and the time for planned items to become real (mostly years!?)
Also when is the future (a specific date?) as in “future consideration”
Also it would be good to get comprehensive feedback why ideas “will not implement”
Hello Gerd,
Thank you for this feedback and we appreciate your detailed points about the Idea statuses. We are 100% dedicated to you and the rest of our user base and have put new processes in place to improve the ideas portal experience. We try to prioritize the ideas based on user interest, but in some cases, we may spot an idea with fewer votes that can make an immediate impact as well!
The Bentley Ideas Portals are intended to offer users the opportunity to share ideas more directly and conveniently with our product development teams for consideration. Keep in mind that some Ideas may remain in a certain state to gain more votes and even if there is a highly voted Idea it does not guarantee that the idea will be implemented. The reason an idea may not be implemented is that the idea may not be technically feasible to implement at the time due to technology or product strategy.
When your idea has been reviewed by the product team and is considered a valid idea, but it is not ready to be scheduled or implemented yet, the Future Consideration status will be applied. Your idea will be reviewed, and it may be considered for a future release however there's no timeline as to when. This goes back to the feasibility of the request. We cannot commit to a specific date for any enhancements marked as “Planned” are forward-looking estimates and projections only. There can be no assurance that Bentley will be able to meet such estimates or projections specified, or at all.
In terms of the timing of the reviews, we can’t really commit to a time as we are also observing which ideas are being upvoted. When it comes to implementation, it really depends on the idea as it pertains to the complexity of that item. Software development takes time, and we also want to make sure that we take the time to get user feedback during the discovery and development processes and ensure quality testing procedures are completed.
Here are a few things that can help. If you feel strongly about an idea, but it has not received a lot of votes, feel free to solicit your idea and comment on it to gather more support from your peers on the Ideas portal. You can also have conversations with peers to help push for your idea via the Bentley Communities. Another option is to simply wait for more votes by working with other peers to help upvote it.

Lastly, for ideas with the status “will not be implemented”, thank you for the feedback and we will work on improving this moving forward. Do you have an example of an idea that did not meet your expectations? We are happy to review the item again and add additional comments.
Best regards,
Tamicca
