Related to / inspired by https://microstation.ideas.aha.io/ideas/MSR-I-843: The ability to save a "configuration" of one or more application windows to be recalled. For example I work on 3-4 different locations (home, office, building site, ...). Sometimes only my portable, sometimes one external monitor, sometimes two, ...

It would be really handy to be able to make a configuration for all of these situations with one or multiple application windows, activate views, ribbons, windows, toolbars, ... depending on the optimal space usage for every case and easily recall them with a single button.

I can probably do this in the prefs folder with multiple copies of my entire preferences but there would be no synchronisation betwoon the different setups for other variables (like recent files, ...).

Thinking about this, it could probably be handy even for someone always using the same amount of monitors. Maybe for modelling or for creating drawings a different workflow is better, with another layout of windows and monitors ...

In some softwares this exist - at least partially. For example Navisworks lets the user save and load "Workspaces". It's only single application window though.
