MsDot has been using item types as a replacement for tag data for title block attribute exchange for almost 8 years now. We have many sheet borders using this item type expression. However, in order for us to upgrade our ProjectWise integration server, we'll have to use the new attribute exchange functionality. Currently, we have no way to swap the data in our files to read the new item type. Since this functionality is still a ‘tech preview’, could we get the platform team to add the ability to swap item types for a text node?

I can right click the text node and get ‘Edit Item’ and ‘Clone Item’ which only always me to edit the values of the existing item type. However, if we had ‘Change Item’, we could pick a new item type for that text node and select the property for it. This is a pretty big dilemma for us as we are currently stuck on version 299 and cannot upgrade until we have a solution for this.
