I'm under a lot of pressure to provide an answer for, "How do we add the centroid to all types of 3D elements and have it automatically populated when assigning Asset Information?"

I spoke with Carl Myhill on Friday 13/06/25 who confirmed there's a Product Backlog Item (PBI) 1416040, which remains open for the Bentley Development Team to address and it relates to this issue. I've been advised to place this idea here and refer the idea number to Bentley for implementing.

The desired fields to populate are:

- the item's position on the xyz axis (Longitude, Latitude, Elevation).

- the chainage position - with the ability to automatically update if the element moves

- the material (e.g. Steel) and material type (type 'x' galvanised steel)

I'm looking to attach these to all 3D elements, not just smart solids because a number of items haven't been modelled in this way, and we need to capture as much as we can.

If the fields could be automatically populated when the Asset Information is assigned, that would be an incredible help.

What I need to know is, can this be done and how long would it take to implement?
