It would be very nice and helpful to be able to assign a background color to the Text Frames in the Dimension Styles. So they can be used for Labels, and such. It would great to make it work like the Text Styles do, but to actually fill out the whole Text Frame and not just where the text is. So it will work with multiple lines and length of text. Thanks!
Yes, it is mostly for readability. As the posters below stated; to be able to use the background option for the whole frame will make 'blocking out' the Elements behind it easier instead of having to break the Elements.
Yes, background for notes would increase readability.
My screenshot is a little different from the other poster's. I use "callout bubbles" frequently on my plans, using a dimension style that utilizes Note Frames. I would like the option to have those note frames filled completely with a background to increase readability and clarity. While I am able to use a text style with Background enabled, that only applies to the text and not the note frame.
I have attached an example. The note on the left shows the results of just the text background, while the note on the right illustrates what a filled frame would look like. That note on the right is what I would like to have.
There are (obviously) ways to manually achieve this look, but it would be much better to have the option for this to happen automatically.
Hi David,
Thanks for filing this idea. Why would you like to have a background colour of your dimensions?
Is it because of readability? Certain requirement you must cover? If you could elaborate on that and maybe attach another screenshot, that would be great, thanks
