Please can you find a solutions to have searchable text in rasterized PDF prints.

We use .pod and image background all the time to create context to our 2D detailing, but once you print this to PDF file the text becomes part of the "image" and you can not longer search text.

OCR can help with this, but is limited to horizontal text and is an additional time consuming task with limited sucess.
