[V8i] showing length of line while we place them in drawings

Hi,
We are rebar detailers and we see a practical difficulty to measure the bar length every time to check (Checkers mainly) for drawings drawn by other detailers. Is there a way Microstation can automatically show the length of lines drawn using oneparticular command?
Insert field option after drawing the lines and this takes the same amount of time to inquire the length manually.

    We have decided to close this idea, as there is not enough support from the community and it's for V8i.
