MicroStation has had a database (DB) interface for decades. Oracle is one of several supported relational DBs. For those using Oracle, the available MicroStation interface is almost obsolete. We need compatibility with the current version of Oracle, which is Oracle 19.

Totally 100 % agree with the comment by Guest underneath.
I support this, but want to refine the idea. There are many new databases available to users these days, most prominent is cloud based database storage. Bentley needs to adopt a new 'connection' type that supports latest releases of Oracle, SQL server, Big Query and more. The current mscatalog limitation needs to be lifted or modernised to support modern database techniques.
