By default, Microstation suffers from "Not Responding" Windows messages when undertaking long processes (even more so in PowerPlatform products like ORD). This gives many users the impression the software has crashed and they shutdown the session. We have found that adding the disable windows ghosting variable stops this from happening and provides a better user experience - can this variable be provided by default? Alternatively, a generic status bar wheel, etc. may keep the session GUI active for users to know the session is still working.
What about a progress bar? There are also some functions that you can not stop (when it turns takes too long to process) It should be possible to "escape" these funtions (e.g selecting multiple nested shared cells or too many objects from external souces) at least there should be some warning like when you try pattern too dense.
This is indication that program is not fully compatible with Windows 10. It should be not possible to certify apps which do not run GUI update in separate process.
