This is a repost of a previous idea (MSR-I-781) where I contributed with further information after I got a reply. The reply was probably swayed by a comment that had missunderstod how F13-F24 works and the status of the idea got changed to "already exist". I cant find any obvious way to apply for a reevaluation and therefor I am making this repost.
Original post:
Background:
Custom keyboards and macro pads are a great way to increase productivity when used together with the ability to add key-ins to keyboard combinations and the function keys. Windows have support for 24 function keys but Microstation only supports up to 12 in the regular interface and 3 more if you are willing to edit the function key menu file with a text editor.
Suggestion:
Add the remaining function keys to the drop down menu [Settings -> function keys] making the list F1 to F24, this would double the available combinations without taking any functionality away.
Updated part:
In the reply on the original post the answerer replied under the assumption that Shift+F1 = F13.
I have added a video and a screenshot to demonstrate that this is not the case.
Attached files and further information:
Funtion Key menu.png: Screenshot of the menu that would be expanded with F13-F24.
