Dialogs should work similar among them (should have a similar interface, buttons, workflow..)

MS CE 14

Follow this topic:

https://communities.bentley.com/products/microstation/f/microstation-forum/217712/can-i-assign-the-escape-key-to-a-mouse-button

Example:

Text Styles dialog:

If you active a text style, then appears a blue book with a green tick icon. That means that it is a local copy but "linked" to a refence (DGNLib) -- local style-matches library.

If you copy/paste a text style then it is simply a local copy (not linked to the source) with a blue book icon.

When you do a copy/paste of a text style then it adds it with suffix "-copy".

If you hover the mouse on the text style name you can see the path of the DGNLib.

Now, try to do the same in the Element Template dialog:

If you active an Element Template, don´t appear a green tick in the icon...

The new Element Template does not appear in the active DGN tree structure (dialog does not refresh and there is not a "Refresh" button). You have to close the dialog and open it again.

If you hover the mouse on the Element Template name, you see anything...

If you copy an Element template, it does not add a "-copy" suffix in its name.

Maybe MicroStation should differenciate Copy action if it must be with suffix "-copy" or not.

I think that MicroStation should have 2 options in the context menu

  • Import (copy the name with exactly the same name) It would be the same that double click to a row to put it as Active.

  • Copy (the new name is with the suffix "-copy".

This criteria should be the same in all dialogs.

Also, if one of them is the active, it should appear a black point next to the name so the user can know which is the active in the dialog.

Which is the active Element Template? I don´t see in the Element Template dialog.

Which is the active text style? I don´t see in the Text Style dialog
