When selected elements have handles enabled, and those handles are selected again so they show yellow, these can be Translated (moved) as a group. Brilliant.... but

I think they should also be able to be edited using the other fundamental modify operations, ie;
•scaled as a group,
•rotated as a group,
•mirrored as a group
•aligned as a group
•made to align or move to contact

I think the fence tools should also have the option to only operate on selected elements or element handles. eg. First select those elements you wish to edit (these may be overlapping other elements in the view), then use the fence tool to stretch. You can get this behaviour now by locking and unlocking the elements you don't wish to move, but it would be a more fluid workflow with select+fence operating together on the fly.
