It would be good to have this option in Bentley View.
Typical for large projects to have info stored in multiple formats. Finding stuff is a two step process. 1. Open and view (Bentley View) and see if something is relevant. 2. Open with Mstn or vertical then save as dgn.
The problem is a lot of the relevant files would not be used or visible via the dgnpreviewer app. You end up having convert everything again in Mstn to get an overview.
Two loads - one in View, then the next in Mstn. I find myself avoiding View and using Mstn just to avoid this double loading.
It would be good to be able to save the dwg etc when in Bentley View as you go along. Hopefully, there are no or less licensing penalties here. Also good for profileration of dgn as a file format.
Not sure what the Guest comment is about.
But IMO this idea defeats the whole premise of a "Read Only" file viewer.
I mean, if you want to save into another format, that alters the file and the resultant is dependant on so many factors such as conversion tables etc., and so thereafter the software is no longer Read Only...
