Request: Develop an official Datasmith Exporter (including Direct Link) for MicroStation.

Datasmith has become the industry-standard workflow for Twinmotion and Unreal Engine. Most competing AEC/CAD platforms—including Revit, Archicad, SketchUp Pro, Rhino, Vectorworks, BricsCAD, Allplan, SOLIDWORKS, 3ds Max, Navisworks and CityEngine—already provide official Datasmith support, either built into the application or via an official exporter.

MicroStation users are currently limited to FBX and other generic exchange formats, which lose important information and require repeated material reassignment and manual updates. An official Datasmith exporter would preserve hierarchy, metadata, materials and object identities while enabling Direct Link synchronization with Twinmotion and Unreal Engine.

For architects, urban designers and infrastructure professionals increasingly using Twinmotion for client presentations, this would make MicroStation significantly more competitive and align Bentley with the workflows already offered by most major AEC software vendors.
