The Global Origin, and the Compass seem to have a gap in my view.
When I move the design plane 0,0,0 origin using the ACTIVE ORIGIN MONUMENT command it moves 0,0,0 to the selected location.
What happens after that is that unless I know the previous coordinate location of the Global Origin it could be lost.
I can always save the Global Origin as a Named ACS before I move the Monument Point but this seems to lack a bit of intuition in the workings of an agile design file space process.
My suggestion is to have a resident location for the Monument Point 0,0,0 before it is moved, preserved as the Default Monument location and always present in the design plane perhaps list in the ACS dialog.
If I move the Monument Point to another location, the foundation Monument Point is preserved if I want it back again. A bit like the Default Model in a DGN file.
This might give average users more confidence to move 0,0,0 and ACS around their design space during the content development process and then restore it when the design is completed.
This would be per-Model.
Agreed. I lose coordinates if try to move global origin. But would like to keep coordinates intact and just move global orgin back to center. This is need when for example I need to export OBJ in real coordinates.
