Within MS2024 there is a new Area tool that allows you to combine the areas of 2 or more shapes and place the text.

This is good.

However, the text is not a text field and thus if anyone of the shapes changes size, the area text doesn't update.

If you use the same tool on a single shape there is an option to make it a text field.
