I usually work with Microstation to create safety layouts. In these layouts, typical safety elements (e.g., emergency stops, sensors, light barriers) are represented via cells (we are talking about 2D).
Each of this elements has a number. I though, that it might be incredible useful that each cell or element, allows for the creation of personalized data field (a function, that is quite common for parts in other CAD softwares), where the user can introduce his data.

An even more interesting idea, would be the possibility to automatically create and export tables from these elements.

Edit: I've just realised, that Item types allows to do what I've just described. I would like to expand. I believe, it would be really benefitial the information that is exported in the tables, can also be edited there and not only in the cell/component.
