We often receive vendor models in formats that include Parasolid, IGES, STEP, and ACIS. When adding these file types to our 3D models, we experience processing issues due to the high detail contained in the vendor models. Currently we have to use 3rd party tools outside of the Bentley suite to simplify and fix complicated geometry on vendor models.

These tools avoid the rework required by users to remodel and manually fix geometries, but we find they're not being used often because they are an outside tool.

Our suggestion is adding a built-in tool to the Bentley modeling suite to allow simplification and fixing of complicated geometry (similar to Autodesk Inventor's simplification tool) allowing vendor models to be used in .dgns without causing processing issues.
