Expand ItemType Export/Import Functionality

When exporting ItemTypes to Excel, allow the following as options:

  • Choose Excel file to export to (can currently only select folder and name is automatic)

  • Allow exporting from multiple dgns (with a selection of all models, default only, etc.)

  • Selection for how to handle existing entries (replace all, retain existing and append, only replace existing entries etc.)

When importing from Excel, apply similar logic:

  • If entry (model name and element id) does not exist in current dgn, ignore

    This sounds a lot like "Scheduling" tools from typical BIM Software. Bentley's OBD has this to a certain extent. So does Revit and others.

    Currently the "Reports" don't allow for any editing. As the name indicates, it is only possible to report. Though I think some of the things you say related to export could be achieved with Reports.
    It would be another step to extend reports tool to allow import as well.

    Please do take a look at typical Scheduling tools and try to consolidate the needed functionality into Microstation so that all of it's verticals can take advantage!
