Background

Slope Works is a special part of geotechnical engineering. Unlike road work nor site formation, there are no common handy tools and we need to do some heavy custom line works to construct a targeted mesh and perform intersection with the 3D slope model. Nevertheless, triangulation does not support lines sharing with the same (x, y) point but with different (z).

Limitation

Extend Line Tool is a useful tool to separate lines which share the same (x, y) point. However, Extend Line Tool does not support multiple element selection when the distance is specified. That is the nightmare to edit thousands of line.

Idea

Other than support multiple line elements selection, it is hoped that Bentley would also add support for pre-selection before the tool activate. (Select Lines First and Element Selection Tool, and then activate Extend Line Tool with Distance specified, left click to edit lines)
