Hello Bentley, this is a mixture of question and idea suggestion.
I don't know if MSCE has a content or context awareness application layer that knows what's in the CAD file, Model or Element when it is selected or when the file opens?
Content awareness is in a few applications I know of like Photoshop.
Being content aware initiates a relationship to what tools work with the selected object or file, knows which settings to apply, knows that an object once had a style applied, knows that a line can have projection properties, volumetric tools, links to applications.
In a way of thinking it's like seeing the benefits of having a 3D model instead of a 2D model. You can do a lot more with a 3D model than you can a 2D drawing.
In this case it's the relationship between the file or content, and all the application, and modelling tools. CAD Tools used for 3D shape, or modified 3D shape will be aware of the3D Elements.
It would probably change the internal architecture of the application, but it might open up new avenues of functionality and automation.
If I think about the Photoshop content awareness fill, Photoshop is aware of all the pixels in the image and their bits and relationship to adjacent pixels. It allows things like content removal and figuring out a replacement fill using AI.
Maybe it could work, maybe not. Maybe something for the R&D team.
