From a perspective of minimizing the content and the management overhead when there are several Power Platform applications installed. It would be good if a standard layout for the Configuration could be implemented or a common one used for all applications. This would make it easier to maintain organization standards and other common resources. There is also the disk space issue particularly when using ProjectWise managed configurations.
Suggested layout:

I have been using a multi-application configuration for many years now and I thought that this would be the normal by now for all the Power Platform apps, Bentley have been calling it One Configuration for many years but it still has not happened fully. Each app needs to have the application components separated from the core MicroStation components so that the configurations for each application can be slotted together like a jigsaw and work without having to do any reconfiguring.
I can absolutely relate to this idea! When we first got a presentation for Openbuildings Designer it was presented as a "mutual" platform with many different applications for specific uses (like OBD, ORD, PS, ...). In reality though it looks like they are all separate applications, at least when it comes to the configuration. That makes it very difficult to share files whithin a single project between multiple of those platforms.
To give a simple example, the color mapping table is different for OBD and PS. Of course we can overwrite this in a custom configuration. But that requires quite a bit of research, testing and administration. Something small businesses can't afford.
I have been trying to make a custom configuration that will work for multiple applications. It appears to be possible but it's so difficult and a lot of work. I think Bentley should make a better effort streamlining this. Maybe create a new "configuration" for it so that existing users can keep working the way they work now if they want.
Let's not focus only on ProjectWise workflows but also on local file storage / company server. Again for small businesses (I'm the only one using Bentley products at our company) it's a big investment not only for software license but also for configuration, maintenance, learning curve, ...
