We are getting the need to import/copy GIS elements to DGN files and be able to copy the included metadata into other user created elements. For example, I import points from GIS containing metadata representing existing trees, and I need to place tree cells to replace those points and copy the metadata to the tree cells. To do that you need to create an ItemType the same as the metadata and add it to the tree cells, then manipulate the data.

It would be really nice if the ItemTypes were created in the DGN file whenever GIS data is imported or copied into a DGN file.

There is probably many other situations arising now with the need for metadata to be added to all elements in models to fulfill the DE requirements on many jobs
