ETs are great and the number of properties it can enforce is growing. Even covers Item Types now.
I think in practice a lot of users will need to be able to override some of the properties. The CAD admin will never be able to forsee all requirements and being forced to wait for them to update the dgnlibs is a big stumbling block. There will also be a lot of other legitimate reasons to override the standard settings, including reducing bloat in the dgnlib.
The Update tool currently ignore any overrides when updating elements with associated ETs.
The Update tool would also have the option to honour overrides.
So, if the user changes the ET settings on one or more Properties on Placement or post placement, the ET Update all other Properties and skip the 'dirty', modified or overridden Properties.
