Element Templates: ACS Property

"This allows administrators to create templates in one place and to distribute them to many users. Templates can be applied to existing elements. They also can be used to set the active settings for element placement. "

ETs are very powerful for enforcing consistency when placing an element. ET Properties include most of the symbology, materials etc. RT even enables Item Types so elements placed could also be automatically assigned an IT.

It would be good to enhance ETs to include ACS as a property.. Item Type?

There would two options: User defines the ACS name, as the element gets placed with the property. User defines '_Active' as the ACS name and Mstn checks to see if an ACS is active at placement and includes the active ACS name with the element.

This would be helpful to enforce positional 'standards' in addition to symbology standards. The user could then select all the elements with a particular ACS ET property and check againts the ACS and move etc if required.

This kind of 'parametric' control is commonly seen as BIM advantage over CAD apps like Mstn, eventhough parametrics can slow things down a lot. It would be good to have an 'on demand' tool to meet user expectations half way.
