There seems to be step backwards regarding performance of 2D graphics. In attached file custom line styles at close zoom causes file to respond slowly in Microstation versions XM and up. Selecting or manipulating the white border(custom line - ADTI_6) causes display delays. Locally we use custom lines in place of MS linecodes for direct compatibility with ACAD as in DWG all linetypes ar "custom" and then there is no need to remap linestyles back and forth.
If lot of custom lines are used in 2D DGN it really slows down the view display and there are no visible display speed difference if using software rendering or hardware. This is ridiculous that video hardware is not used to speed up 2D display. For example in DWG all linestyles are "custom" and it doesn't cause issues. There is place for improvement.

Hi Frank,
Thanks for you answer, it means we don't have many users voted for this idea.
If this is a bug, then it will be handled differently obviously. I'll check with support and give you an update.
......There is not support from the community... (from Frieder Kirn).
What does this mean? Even as there is AutoCAD DWG involved, this seems a major issue and not an idea.
Hey All,
There is not support from the community to proceed with this idea, so we decided to close it for now.
Thanks for your understanding.
