CE - Select Similar

I am constantly asked by users that come over from ACAD/Revit, if there is an option to Select Similar. I have to tell them ... not as such, we have the Selection tool in expanded mode. it would be nice to havea right click menu to allow users to Select similar and then use the Selection tool and or Filter to remove unwanted data

you can try "PokeIt Tool", it's a great alternative, it's a macro designed by bentley. I would really like it to be part of the bentley products natively

In the meantime, you can try "PokeIt Tool". It could do the job in many cases but also inspire Bentley for the implementation of a similar tool.

I think a good starting point could be the "Element selection" window. With the different tabs like "Levels", "Element type", ... a lot of selection refinement can already be done.

I read somewhere else that it would be difficult to determine what "Similar" must mean. Let the user specify this in the "Element selection" window somehow. Then we can use functionality that we are already familiar with to do new things.

SynchroPro has this same functionality of selecting an property and then select similar will select all the elements that has same proeprty value.

Microstation NEEDS a select similar tool! I am working with a client that uses only Microstation and I have had to remove tons of info on numerous drawings. I sit there for hours literally selecting them one by one. Waste of time and budget! Get it together, Bentley!

I have been asking for this feature for, well, decades. Would really help speed up certain operations.

    Thanks!

While "Select By Attributes" dialog gives you a lot of possibilities it is really OLD fashioned and has not been enhanced since - actually - decades.

The AC feature that should be quite easy to replicate, given that the functionality in my mind appears already "hidden" in Select By Attributes
