Hello Oto, thank you for reaching out. This enhancement is now planned for our next major release. We will reach out with the release announcement once available.
Smart match matches all items belong to an element and I use the tool a lot to match all that information at once so i can use it on a new element, but in order to ensure the element has the template associated/added to it yo have to re set up the actual element template from the element template box rather than matching an existing element with the template assciated to it. the change element tool has a tick box for element templates, so i am not sure why the smart match tools doesn't match the element template as well. i hope this clarifies what i am looking for.
This causes issues with standards checker as later using change attributes tool an active template is used and not template from selected element. This issue is one of many reasons why Element Templates are not widely used as some tools do not support it. It is last chance to at last make templates usable in newer versions.

Match and Smart Match tools do not honor element templates. This causes issues with standards checker as later using change attributes tool active template is used and not template from selected element so mistakes happen. This issue is one of man...
That is nice but match element attributes tool was still forgot.

Status?
Any updates? This is rather critical as renders templates assignment unusable.
Hi Mark, thank you for the great idea. We will investigate the enhancement together with other considerations around SmartMatch.

I thought it was fixed long ago. Is it back in CONNECT version?
Mark Preedy over 3 years ago in reply to Oto
Currently using Connect Update 8 and it doesn't seem to work.

Hi Mark,
Element template application is not a element attribute. Therefore, could you clarify exactly what functionality that you are looking to see here?

Regie
