When we need to copy a reference file or promote a nested reference file to a direct attachment, it would be very beneficialif there was some tool settings options to include level override settings.
I recently had to convert some nested reference files to direct attachments so I could clip them differently than their "parent" reference file. Having to redo all of the level overrides took a while - first to find the settings in the original attachment and then to make those same settings in the new attachments. Being able to toggle on a preserve Level Overrides checkbox would have reduced the process to about three or four steps.
There may be other settings that would also be beneficial, so if this is selected for implementation, please look at any and all reference file settings that are not part of the existing copy/promote reference code.

Workaround: you could just export the level settings from the nested reference (go to level manager, browse for the nested reference, then export the levels via "level -> export"), and then import into the exported level settings into the new reference.
