Raster displayed and printing on top of elements

One setting I have yet to find in Connect that was crucial for preparing plans in V8i was the setting for rasters to print behind all elements no matter the position of the reference in which the raster was placed within the reference sequence list in the reference manager. I have 3 reference files for a drawing and the raster was placed in reference no. 2. There are elements within reference no. 2 that i want to print on top of reference no. 3 but the raster is printing on top of reference no. 3 as well. Any solutions besides putting the raster in its own reference so i can control the sequence?

Are you in a 3d file?

Also, if you select the raster image and use Element Information to bring up the Properties dialog, go to the Display Print tba and make sure Plane is set to background

Since the raster image can reside on it's own level have you tried assigning it to an independent level and setting priorities to that level like -500. Make sure other levels have a higher priority. Also make sure other reference files have a higher priority.

I'm not sure what worked as I came in this morning and the raster is displaying behind everything else but the reference in which the raster is attached is lower in the sequence. I'll make sure to try the background plane and priority the next time. Thanks!

When I run into problems where I feel something should be working, but it does not seem to be I just shut down Microstation. Many times after a restart things start working correctly. I think the program gets confused at times and a restart is a simple first step to troubleshooting issues.
