I would like to propose an option within the Save As DWG dialog to add an option to ZIP the exported folder. Thus the user can easier zip all the DWG plus any raster files that are saved to this new folder.
In CE there is a new option to save the DWG reference file and their Raster references to a folder. Having another check box to zip the folder contents would mean the users don't have to remember to send the dwg and the raster references, they just send the zip file.
I have communicated this with support and development. Their reply was to use the Packager tool. In my opinion this creates unwanted folders ie dgn and metedata,whichthe person receiving the DWG do not need or want. I think it should be kept simple.... zip the output folder and all its files without creating any sub folder or metadata.
I propose something like this. But we need votes to get this implemented......
